Press Releases:
There are two positions open on the Historic Preservation Advisory Commission (HPAC) in
Shakopee. The Commission meets once a month (Mondays, starting typically
at 6:30 in the winter and 6:00 in the summer/fall), and supports historic
preservation related projects/standards in the Shakopee community. The
terms are for 3 years, and some of projects include doing field research of
historic structures in town (going door to door to determine the locally
significance of structures), establishing an ordinance with the desire to be
able to apply for grants to assist home and business owners with making
improvements to their historic structure, and working with other
communities/agencies to promote preservation related projects.
