The Scott County Historical Society began collecting the history of Scott County in 1996, when  the Stans Museum opened. Our collections now include photographs, objects, books, oral histories and archival materials. Every item in our collection was either made or used in Scott County.

Whether you’re searching for your ancestors or you want to read up on local history, our collection of microfilm, books, maps, photographs and oral histories are useful resources. If you’re interested in donating items to the SCHS collection, please email the curator, or call 952.445.0378.
