Scott County at Play: Toys, Games, and Exploration 1850 - 2000
Opening November 21, 2024
Generations of Scott County children have shared the same milestones, such as losing a tooth or having a friend move away. Loving parents did their best to raise them well and prepare them for their futures. Yet, as life in the county transformed between 1850 and 2000, so did people’s attitudes towards the young.
Scott County at Play is our newest exhibit and is sure to be a memorable one!
We have many toys, photos, and memories pulled from our collection. Many community members have also loaned their toys and collectables to be displayed. We are so grateful to be part of an amazing community.
We are also thankful to our sponsors and many locals who have loaned items specifically to be played with - this exhibit will create memories in new ways. This hands-on exhibit is full of interactive toys and games and we are VERY excited for you to come in and PLAY!

We love photos because they allow us to preserve moments in time. This gallery showcases snapshots from throughout Scott County's history, from studio portraits and weddings to candids and holiday cards, reminding us that even though Scott County's fashions, neighborhoods, and landscapes have changed over the years, the bonds of community have not.
