What does your membership support?
Your donation supports everything we do at Scott County, from keeping the lights on to giving opportunities to interns curious about the museum field. Below is just a few of the things your membership gift supports.
Visiting community centers, libraries, schools to give educational Scott County Stories talks about topics ranging from the Civil War to the Great Depression
Sponsoring author talks, guest speakers and other events at the museum
Developing and researching original exhibits on a regular rotating schedule
Providing classroom outreach opportunities including education trunks, field trips and more for teachers of all grade levels
Providing exceptional educational experiences to interns interested in learning about careers
Operating and maintaining the 5,000 square foot museum building in downtown Shakopee
Providing hands-on research assistance and advice for any topic in our collection
Maintaining an on-going archive of every Scott County newspaper dating back to 1856.
Preserving in perpetuity a unique collection of over 50,000 books, photographs, letters, ephemera, clothing and artifacts that tell the story of Scott County from its earliest days to the present day.
