Your donation supports everything SCHS does, including:

  • Visiting community centers, libraries, schools to give educational Scott County Stories talks about topics ranging from the Civil War to the Great Depression

  • Sponsoring author talks, guest speakers and other events at the museum

  • Developing and researching original exhibits on a regular rotating schedule

  • Providing classroom outreach opportunities including education trunks, field trips and more for teachers of all grade levels

  • Providing exceptional educational experiences to interns interested in learning about careers

  • Operating and maintaining the 5,000 square foot museum building in downtown Shakopee

  • Providing hands-on research assistance and advice for any topic in our collection

  • Maintaining an on-going archive of every Scott County newspaper dating back to 1856
